Should Germany join Austria?

Given the fact that Austria is older as a country, wouldn�t be more logical if Germany joins Austria than if Austria joins Germany? The result would be a neutral country, not part of NATO, something most Germans now prefer. And a political way to bypass the occupation powers which still have thousands of troops in Germany...Germany would be annexed by Austria.
